Admission Procedures
If you’re interested in enrolling your child in our school, we ask that you fill out our registration forms which can be filled out in person at our school. We would be more than happy to give you and your child a tour of our school and introduce you to our staff.
The following will apply in relation to admissions to our school:
A registration form must be completed and accompanied by a €100 deposit. This deposit will only be returned when your child has become eligible and is accepted for the ECCE scheme. Deposits are only refundable when your child is not taking up a second pre-school year with The Learning Curve. Deposits will be returned in your final year with us.
If you choose not to take the pre-school place booked for your child the deposit is Non refundable.
Children should be booked into the preschool in advance. Places are allocated on a first come first served basis.
In the event of there being no places left, a waiting list will be in operation. Parents will be notified as soon as a place becomes available.
The age range of children that can be catered for is from 2yrs and 6months to 5 years.
All children must be toilet trained.
In accordance with the HSE’s healthy eating initiative parents are asked to provide their child with a healthy lunch.
Children with additional needs
EDUCATION FOR PERSONS WITH SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS ACT 2004
A child with special educational needs shall be educated in an inclusive environment with children who do not have such needs
unless the nature or degree of those needs of the child is such that to do so would be inconsistent with--
(a) the best interests of the child as determined in accordance with any assessment carried out under this Act, or
(b) the effective provision of education for children with whom the child is to be educated.
At The Learning Curve we endeavour to facilitate every child to the best of our ability irrelevant of that child’s additional needs where ever possible to do so, each child is treated as an individual and their uniqueness is identified and nurtured in order to aid in their development with the emphasis being self-paced as opposed to a schedule of lessons.
